New Purchase: Essie Nail Polish in Lilacism

I've been trying to build up my essie collection recently as they are one of my favourite nail polish brands! In total I have 7 now and will be buying more. But today I want to talk about one particular shade that I have bought recently. This is essie's nail polish in the colour lilacism and as you can tell from the name, it's lilac. It is an absolutely beautiful colour and one of those colours that makes you look really tan.

It takes 2-3 coats to get a really opaque colour. In some lights in can look like a purple-grey but in others it looks straight up lilac. It has quickly made it to one of my top 10 nail polishes.

I buy all my nail polishes off of amazon.co.uk.

This is what lilacism looks with 2 coats:

My Current Skincare Routine

So, for the past few months I have been trying out a new skincare routine and I can honestly say I've finally found a set of products that work for my skin.
My skin is prone to breakouts and I have never really found the right products that would clear up my skin until now.

I have been using the majority of products from the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions line. Clinique is quite pricey but the products work so well and you definitely get what you pay for!

In the mornings and evenings I use 3 of the products from the line:

1: Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam

I start off by pumping 2-3 pumps (2 in the morning and then 3 at night) in the palm of my hand and massaging the foam onto a wet face for about 30-60 seconds avoiding the eye area. Then I rinse the product off and pat my face dry with a towel. This product retails at £14.50.

2: Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion

After I have used the cleansing foam, I grab a cotton wool pad, shake the lotion well, and then pour some on to the cotton pad and sweep over my face and neck. Again avoiding the eye area.
The description for this product on the website: Step 2 of Anti-Blemish Solutions 3-Step System. Gentle, effective formula exfoliates to clear dead surface cells and reduce excess oil that can lead to breakouts. Unclogs pores. Oil-absorbing powders eliminate shine. Soothes irritation, redness.
This product retails at £17.

3: Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturiser

After completing steps 1 and 2, I apply a thin layer of the moisturiser and this just helps to prevent dryness and peeling as well as controlling excess oil. This product retails at £18.50.

In the evenings I use two extra products on my skin, one of them being from the Clinique line.

1: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I'm sure everyone has heard about this product. It is well raved about and I love using this to take off my make-up. I pump 3 lots of this into the palm of my hand and apply over my face. Then use circular motions with a hot muslin cloth all over until all traces of the product are removed. A 100ml pump retails at £12.75. The 100ml pump starter kit retails at £14.25 (which includes 1 or 2 muslin cloths).

2: I then go on to doing the 3-steps I mentioned earlier with the Anti-Blemish Solutions line from Clinique.

3: Anti-Blemish Solutions Spot Treatment Gel

Just before I go to bed I apply the spot treatment gel on any blemishes I may have and then the following morning the redness and size of the spots definitely reduce. This retails at £13.50.

This routine has definitely improved my skin and is worth every penny.

Film Review: Submarine

So recently my friend has been lending me some of her films that she thought I had to watch. One of which was the film 'Submarine'. It is not at all what I expected it to be but I absolutely love it and it has quickly joined the list of my favourite films.

All I've done this weekend is stay in bed, with a hot chocolate, and watched the few films my friend leant me. I have watched submarine 3 times in 2 days now! I would definitely give this film 5 stars in my opinion, but I had a completely different reaction to it then my friends. On the DVD it says that it's 'THE BEST BRITISH COMEDY IN YEARS' and my friends also said it was really funny too! I must admit I did laugh a some parts but I also cried at it and found some parts really sad!

For those who haven't seen this film I will write what it says on the back of the case as to what the film is about: One boy must fight to save his mother from the advances of a Mystic and simultaneously lure his pyromaniac girlfriend into the bedroom, armed with only a wide vocabulary and near-total self belief. His name is Oliver Tate.

I can say that I loved this film so much that I have ordered it myself so that I will have it as part of my collection. It's a brilliant film that I would recommend to anyone!

If you have watched this film, I'd love to know what your reaction was to it and what you thought of it!

Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum

I for one have been waiting ages to try out this perfume! I've heard a lot of positive reviews on this and decided that I wanted to try it. I received it as a gift for Christmas from my nan but I didn't have high hopes for it. I never do with perfumes because if I don't like it then I won't be disappointed and If I did like it then it would be a bonus.
The fragrance was created by the same perfumer who created Victor & Rolf's Flowerbomb, which I haven't tried but have always wanted to. The bottles to both perfumes are very similar, both looking like grenades. I was expecting the Jimmy Choo perfume to be a very sophisticated scent, when in fact it's an incredibly sweet scent which I love!

When I first tried the perfume I really liked it and the more I wear it, the more I'm absolutely loving it! It can be quite a harsh smell when first applied but after it has developed it becomes a softer scent.

I would definitely recommend this perfume to those who are fans of sweet scents.

If you've tried this perfume, let me know your thoughts!

It retails at £39 for a 40ml bottle in boots. (60ml £49, 100ml £68)

Happy to be with friends

"Good morning starshine, the earth says hello..." It's not even the morning when I'm writing this post, but yes, it is a quote from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Today has been the perfect start to the year! Me and a few friends took a trip to a market to do some shopping. First off we stopped for a starbucks which I have become more and more OBSESSED with! I had a white vanilla mocha which I must say was most delightful haha! When I show you guys what I bought today (one being the bowler hat in the picture situated above) you will see that I do love starbucks a lot. My outfut for today consisted of a denim shirt, black disco pants and heeled chelsea boots. Considering I'm a bit taller than my friends anyways, you can imagine what it was like considering I was the only one wearing heels.
The one thing I really wanted from today was a fluffy hat (which I bought) but after that lovely starbucks we went to mcdonalds where I got severely put off my big mac (cheers charlee). Then we just walked around the stalls at the market when we stopped at different stalls, looked about and where I had to protect one of my friends from the metal horsies (sounds silly but she does have a huge phobia of horses in general). When me and my friend Charlee stopped at one stall to look at the bowler hats (we both bought one) the other two went to the stall next to it and there was a really funny guy that worked the stall who was an awesome magician! I'm talking weird coin and quirky card tricks. We did some more shopping and called it a day.
I had the most amazing time with my chums and can't wait to do something like that again! I can honestly say that I probably haven't laughed and enjoyed myself so much in months!

Now it's time to meet these awesome people!

Meet Charlee (left) and Holly (right). Two of my bestest friends in the whole world! When together we are very weird! Which you are about to find out. We are all in the same year at school and in majority, the same classes. Without these two in my life I probably would still be the girl who didn't like talking much (when they read this they will probably think 'Mollie, not talking? She never blooming shuts up!') and I wouldn't let my 'true self' (aka. my CRAZY self) show.
Charlee is the person I've known for the longest! The summer before entering year 7 there was a week long summer school for some students, which at the time, we thought to be a 'cool' idea! Entering year 7 we were in the same form too and we became the best of friends. Yes, we had our ups and downs, but at the end of the day, who doesn't? We did stop speaking as much for a while, just drifted apart, but now we are closer than ever which is amazeballs!

Me and Charlee are now officially 'Bowler Buddies'...

Me and Holly have been in the same form every year since year 7 and over the years have grown closer and closer, even more so in year 10 (we're in year 11 now by the way). Me and Holly now have what we like to call a 'bromance' even though we aren't boys but 'sismance' kind of sounds like a disease to me...

And yes... we like taking silly pictures when together! (As demonstrated below)

Now for the final person to talk about, and that's Emily. Me and Emily aren't as close as I am with the other two but we are good friends. We hated each other and then suddenly we just started to get along and everyone around us seemed shocked!

Emily loves her chinese food.

That's it for this post. But here are the pictures I posted on instagram from today. My instagram is - mollieleewood (you know, just incase you wanted to follow me aha).

The stuff I bought today

And Again...

Before I left

And finally a strange picture of me with my new favourite glasses (lennon glasses as I like to call them)

Hope everyone has had an amazing day just like I have xo

Hopes & Dreams for 2013

For me, the New Year is a chance to look back on the previous year and take a chance to remember things I've achieved and things I would like to do during the year to come. Anything could happen, If I put my mind to it, I can make anything happen! It's almost like writing a book and deciding where you want the story to go.

When I look back on 2012, It wasn't the year I was hoping for. Even though it was full of happy memories, I didn't allow myself to enjoy it as much as I could of done. I spent more time focusing on the negative aspects of my life and generally being quite pessimistic. That is something I'd like to change this year, I didn't like being that way and now it's time to be more optimistic. I'm determined to make this happen for 2013 and to make this year bigger, better and brighter.

I decided that I would create a list of the things I'd like to do and achieve in the upcoming year of 2013. This year I'm writing down my goals so then I can refer to them whenever life is leaving me to feel a little fatigued.

Hopefully this year will be a great one

Here are my goals for 2013...
